Ingredients

Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian rolls
Sliced deli turkey or leftover roast turkey
  • 0.75 lb Sliced deli turkey or leftover roast turkey
Brie or white cheddar
  • 6 oz Brie, sliced, or white cheddar Use sliced brie or sliced white cheddar (about 6 slices).
Whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 0.75 cup Whole berry cranberry sauce
Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
Butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup Butter, melted
Honey
  • 1 tbsp Honey
Poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp Poppy seeds
Dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp Dried thyme

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Prep and assemble
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish, then set it aside. Greasing prevents sticking and helps the rolls brown evenly.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in one sheet without separating the individual rolls, then place the bottoms in the baking dish. Keep them attached so the sliders bake as layered slices.
  3. Spread the Dijon mustard on the roll bottoms, then layer the turkey and brie/white cheddar over the mustard. Aim for an even layer so every bite gets topping.
  4. Spread the cranberry sauce on the cut side of the roll tops and place them over the filling. Press lightly so the top stays aligned during baking.
Bake and finish
  1. Whisk the melted butter, honey, poppy seeds, and dried thyme until combined. The glaze should look smooth before brushing.
  2. Brush the glaze over the tops, then cover with foil and bake at 350F for 15 minutes. The foil traps moisture so the centers heat through.
  3. Uncover and bake at 350F for 5 minutes until golden and the cheese is melted. Look for browning on the tops and bubbling at the edges.
  4. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm. Serve right away for the best melty cheese texture.

Notes

For clean slices, let the sliders rest for 5 minutes after baking so the layers set. Refrigerate leftovers in a covered container for up to 3 days; reheat in a 325F oven until warmed through. Freezing is not recommended for best roll texture. For a lighter option, use reduced-fat brie or reduced-fat white cheddar and reduce the butter glaze to 2 tbsp.
